This policy explains how Tailor Studio, which operates the Tailor Chapters service, collects and uses your personal data. The service is currently offered to customers in the United States and Canada.

1. Data controller

2. Data we collect

• Identity and contact: your name and email address.

• Order details: the occasion for your video, the music you choose (an uploaded audio file or a link to a track), and any notes you add.

• Content you upload: the photos (and, if you choose, the audio) you provide to create your video. These may include images of other people; you are responsible for having their consent (see our Terms of Sale and Use).

• Payment data: processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We do not store full card details.

• Technical and usage data: on our English-language pages, measurement and advertising cookies or pixels (see section 6).

3. Why we use your data, and our legal bases

• To create, deliver, and support your video, including free re-generations and refunds — performance of our contract with you.

• To communicate with you about your order — performance of the contract.

• To comply with legal, accounting, and tax obligations — legal obligation.

• To measure and advertise our service, on our English-language pages — our legitimate interest, and your consent where required by law.

• To send you marketing (for example if you join our waitlist or newsletter) — your consent; you can unsubscribe at any time.

We never sell your personal data.

4. How long we keep it

• Photos and music you upload: kept only for as long as needed to deliver your order and provide free re-generations, and deleted at your request at any time.

• Order and account data: kept for the duration of our relationship with you.

• Billing and accounting records: kept for the periods required by applicable accounting and tax law.

5. Who we share it with

We share data only with providers strictly necessary to run the service: Stripe (payment processing), Framer (website hosting and analytics), Resend (transactional and marketing emails), Tally (order form and file uploads), and Meta and Google (advertising and measurement, on our English-language pages only — see section 6).

Some of these providers are located outside your country (for example, in the United States or the European Union); such transfers are made with appropriate safeguards. We may also disclose data where required by law.

6. Cookies and tracking

• Essential cookies are needed for the site to work.

• On our English-language pages, we use the Meta Pixel and Google tags to measure performance and support advertising.

• You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of personalized advertising through your Meta ad settings and Google ad settings.

• Our French-language pages (when added) do not carry advertising pixels.

7. Your rights

• If the GDPR applies (we are a French controller): you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to, and port your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time.

• If you are in Canada (PIPEDA and provincial law): you may access and correct your personal information and withdraw your consent, subject to legal limits, and you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

• If you are a California resident (CCPA/CPRA): you may request to know, delete, and correct your personal information, and opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell your personal information.

8. Children

The service is not directed to children under 16. If your content includes images of a minor, you must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
